Timing your touch-up appointments
A touch-up is needed a month or two after your initial appointment as a follow up treatment. Following touch-ups are needed on an individual basis. Factors include the following:
- Skin type Clients with dry skin can expect their results to last longer, while those with oily skin may need touch-ups more often.
- Lifestyle If you spend a lot of time in the sun, swimming, or working out, this can cause microneedling results to fade more quickly.
- Skincare products Certain types of skincare products can fade the pigment more quickly, including those with vitamin C, glycolic acids, salicylic acid, and retinol.
Because everyone’s skin absorbs pigment differently, keep the factors above in mind when scheduling your touch-up treatments.
