Breast enhancement surgery has been performed to enhance a woman’s shape for almost a century. However, within the last five decades, breast augmentation became a standard procedure that is growing increasingly popular among the general population. Today, in the United States, over a hundred thousand breast augmentations are performed yearly. Choosing the right cosmetic surgeon for Hawaii breast augmentation patients can feel like an overwhelming experience. Dr. Javad Sajan, with Allure Esthetics, is one of the leading breast implant surgeons in Hawaii. With his extensive background and experience, Dr. Sajan can transform a woman’s shape and breast tissue so they can achieve their dream figure.

Breast augmentation is one of the leading cosmetic procedures performed every year. But why do over a hundred thousand women choose to undergo this procedure? A woman might choose to get breast implants for many reasons, and the deciding factor is unique to every patient. However, some common reasons to undergo Hawaii breast augmentation include:

  • Breast tissue leading to low self-esteem
  • Deflation or change to breast tissue after pregnancy
  • Uneven or asymmetrical breasts
  • Extreme lack of breast tissue causing body disproportions
  • Loss of breast volume
  • Unable to fit into standard bras or clothing

There are various other reasons a woman might seek breast augmentation surgery, and every decision depends on the patient’s overall goals. Breast implants are the most common form of breast augmentation, as the implants are made of either saline or silicone and can produce the best results.

Choosing a top Hawaii breast augmentation surgeon and following all instructions before and after the procedure is the best way to promote a smooth and easy healing process.

Hawaii Breast Implant Types

There are various types of breast implants available for Hawaii breast augmentation patients. The three main types of breast implants are:

  • Saline
  • Silicone
  • Gummy Bear

There is no right or wrong choice when it comes to choosing an implant type, and the choice depends on the patient’s individual needs, goals, and physical attributes. However, silicone implants are the most popular choice among women, providing a more natural feel and movement to the breast tissue.

Saline Breast Implants

Saline breast implants provide a structured shape and feel, consist of an outer silicone shell, and are filled with sterile saline after they are surgically placed. Some women prefer saline for the safety of the implants. If an implant were to rupture, the inside of the implant consists of saline water and is natural to the body. However, saline implants are less natural than silicone and are more prone to rippling under the skin.

Silicone Breast Implants

Due to their silicone outer shell and gel-like silicone center, silicone breast implants create a natural look and texture in the breast tissue. Depending on the patient's preference, the shell can be smooth or textured, creating volume with natural movement under the skin. However, silicone implants are only approved for women over the age of twenty-two. Some patients worry about the chance of rupture with silicone breast implants, but this is uncommon and can be fixed.

Gummy Bear Breast Implants

One of the newest versions of silicone breast implants, gummy bear implants are becoming one of the most popular implant types among Hawaii breast augmentation patients. These implants feel like their namesake, a gummy bear candy. They are made of a cohesive silicone gel and are harder than normal implants. Gummy bear implants provide some of the most natural-looking results and are less likely to rupture or ripple underneath the skin because of their firm texture.

Types of Breast Augmentation Surgical Procedures

Dr. Sajan can perform many different types of Hawaii breast augmentation surgery, depending on the patient’s needs and overall esthetic. However, he may recommend certain techniques if the patient has specific anatomy needs, implant choice, or if they are combining a breast augmentation with another procedure. There are three incision sites that Dr. Sajan can use during a breast augmentation surgery:

  • Inframammary fold
  • Periareolar
  • Transaxillary

Inframammary Fold

The inframammary fold incision is one of the first incision sites used for breast augmentation. Located in the crease below the breast tissue, this incision site creates the best visibility of the breast tissue for the surgeon. However, patients who do not have a pronounced crease or wish to keep the incision site off of the breasts may not be ideal for this incision site.

Periareolar

The periareolar incision is located on the outer curve of the areola. It’s an uncommon incision site since it can disrupt the ability to breastfeed and can change nipple sensitivity. However, the pigmentation hides the incision, and some women prefer this method as it is hidden underneath a bra.

Transaxillary

The transaxillary incision is located underneath the arm, in the armpit. This incision site keeps the scar concealed underneath the arm and allows the implants to be placed behind the chest muscle without opening the breast tissue. However, it’s not compatible with some implant types or physical anatomy.

Breast Augmentation Consultation

Dr. Sajan begins any breast augmentation with a thorough consultation for every patient. During this consultation, he will ensure the patient can undergo breast implant surgery based on their evaluation and medical history. He will help them choose the implant type and surgery technique based on their goals, physical attributes, and overall needs. The patient will also be able to try on implant types and sizes to find the best one for them.

Patients will arrive at Allure Esthetics, a state-licensed outpatient center, on the day of the surgery. The patient will be given a general anesthetic, and Dr. Sajan will insert the desired breast implants, either above or underneath the chest muscle, using the chosen surgical technique decided upon during the consultation. Patients will be monitored briefly after the surgery to ensure no complications arise.

Breast Augmentation Recovery

Some discomfort and swelling are common during the first few days after breast augmentation surgery. Dr. Sajan will provide a compression wrap that should be worn until the patient is cleared to remove it. He will prescribe pain medication to ease discomfort during the first few days. Some patients may have tender breasts and feel tightness in their chest for a short time. This is common and should go away in a few days. Dr. Sajan will also provide the patient with a list of instructions to promote a smooth healing process, such as an extensive recovery timeline, medications, and creams to use, incision site care, scheduling follow-up visits, and when you can return to daily life.
